  • Studies show that COVID-19 has had a tremendous partake in impacting college students by increase in time on social media platforms making them vulnerable to mental health issues. 

  • The social-emotional detriments of social media include but are not limited to "loneliness, low self-esteem, and depression" (Haddad et al., 2021).

  • Although social media can affect mental health in a negative way, it may be beneficial if used as an educational medium. For example, to search ways on how to improve mental health.
